The air flowing through an engine propels the turbine via the blades. The blades are subjected to particularly strong stresses, above all in the form of a high operating temperature and centrifugal forces. Over time, these stresses cause the blades to “creep”, i.e. they get progressively longer over time. In the worst case, the blade tip can come into contact with the turbine case and block the turbine. In addition, vibration stress can cause “flutter” and lead to material fatigue in blades. Consequently, blades are made from ultra-resilient materials.
